Anne Kihagi Shares Few Hidden Gem Restaurants in San Francisco

The city of San Francisco is home to an excellent variety of cuisine. Anne Kihagi shares three hidden gem restaurants in the city you should try.

Homage

Anne Kihagi recommends Homage if you are looking for a venue with locally sourced, fresh ingredients. Located on Hardie Place in San Francisco’s Financial District, Homage’s menu changes monthly based on ingredients found at single-source farms within the Bay Area. Owner and chef David Katz features a different local supplier with each month’s menu.

Homage is open on Mondays from 8:00 AM-2:00 PM and Tuesdays through Fridays from 8: 00 AM-9:00 PM. The restaurant is closed on weekends. Breakfast is served daily until 11:00 AM, lunch until 3:00 PM and twilight hour menu items are available until 9:00 PM.

If you visit for breakfast, you can choose from a variety of locally roasted coffees, specialty teas, and freshly squeezed juice. Light items include croissants or items like yoghurt or oatmeal. More filling breakfast items can include homemade French toast or scrambled eggs. The lunch menu features a variety of salads available in small and large sizes. Twilight menu items can include lighter fare items like oysters, flatbreads, or bruschetta. Entrees offered can range from salads to chicken dishes. You can also choose from cheese and charcuterie selections. Along with the menu’s monthly special items, you can expect fresh loaves of bread each day made using house-milled grain.

Homage’s libations menu includes specialty cocktails such as their “iced tea,” which is Royal rouge and extra dry vermouth, Amer, and Perucchi gran reserve, and orange. Choose from wines like a 2016 Elizabeth Spencer Sauvignon Blanc or a 2015 Lumin Pinot Noir. Draft options range from a Calicraft Kolsch and a rotating seasonal selection sour ale.

You can order any of Homage’s menu items via GrubHub and Uber Eats. Homage also provides catering services for breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks. Visit Homage's site to see what special items they are featuring for each month.
